From the outside, someone will look whole and compete, but that doesn’t mean they will be whole and complete on the inside. Said another way, it doesn’t mean they will be in touch with all of their consciousness.
However, if this is just what is normal, they can be oblivious about what is going on. The outcome of this is that they can have a strong connection with their mind but they can have a weak connection with their feelings and instincts. A Divided Being If so, they will be strong connection with their head but they won’t have a strong connection with their body. As a result of this, they will be living on the surface of themselves. This will mean that the wont have access to the guidance that is found in their body. Or, at the very least, they won’t have the level of access that they would have otherwise. Top Heavy Without a strong connection to this part of them, they are likely to be overly-reliant on their mind and look toward this part of them to direct their life. Another part of this is that they can look towards others to direct their life. Still, due to how they live, they can have a deep sense that something is missing. This is because the life that they lead is unlikely to be very fulfilling, which can cause them to have the sense that they are not living in the right way. A Mundane Existence In general, it can be as though they are just going through the emotions in life. Consequently, they could come to the conclusion that they suffer from depression. They could see other people having fun and enjoying things and believe that, as they are not having the same experience, there must be something wrong with them. To feel energised and alive, they might need to take something. A Closer Look When it comes to why they are experiencing life in this way, it is likely to be a consequence of what took place during their formative years. This may have been a stage of their life that was anything but nurturing. So, their mother and perhaps their father might have been emotionally unavailable and out of reach. This would have meant that they missed out on the attunement and love that they needed to grow and develop in the right way. One Option Yet, as they were powerless and dependent, there was very little that they could do about what was going on. They couldn’t change what was going on or find another family who could love them. To handle being deprived and greatly wounded, their brain would have repressed how they felt and a number of their needs. This wouldn’t have changed what was going on, of course, but it would have stopped them from being consciously aware of it. Self-Alienation At one point in time, they would have been connected to their body, and thus, in touch with their needs and feelings and, at another, they would have lost touch with their body and most, if not all, of the information that it provided. Said another way, their connected true self, would have been replaced by a disconnected false self. What wouldn’t have crossed their mind is that adapting in this way would make their life harder when they are an adult. Their thinking brain would have been underdeveloped but even if it wasn’t, their priority was to handle what was going on to ensure their survival. Anchored to The Past Many years will have passed since this stage of their life but they will still be in a disembodied state and will carry most, if not all, of the pain that they had to repress. Keeping this pain, along with their unmet developmental needs out of their conscious awareness will take a lot of their energy. For them to be able to operate as a whole and complete human being and to have more energy, they will need to face and work through this pain and experience their unmet developmental needs. This will take courage, patience and persistence. Awareness If someone can relate to this and they are ready to change their life, they may need to reach out for external support. This is something that can be provided with the assistance of a therapist or healer.
