If someone were to take a step back and reflect on what often goes through their mind, they could come to the conclusion that they have a scarcity mindset. They could see that they often think about how there is not enough.
This can relate to there not being enough money, opportunities, attention, love, and support, for instance. The other part of this is that this is likely to show that they live a life that is full of struggle and strain and they are often deprived. The Solution Now, if they were to look into what they can do to change their life, they could soon come to the conclusion that what is taking place in their mind is the problem. This is because they might have learnt that what is going on in their mind plays a big part in the experiences that they have. Therefore, for them to live a life where there is enough, they will need to ‘reprogram’ their mind. This is likely to involve them questioning what they believe and having thoughts that are ‘positive’. The next phase Providing that they regularly apply what they have learnt, they are likely to find that their life gradually changes. They can then see how there are certain areas of their life where there is enough. They can then believe that as long as they keep going, other areas of their life will also change. This certainly makes sense, as not only does change take time but not everything changes at the same time. Another outcome Alternatively, after changing what is taking place in their mind, they might only notice a few changes or their life might not really change. At this point, it could be said that they just need to keep going. By hanging in there, then, and not giving up, they will see the results that they deserve. However, what if this is a sign that they need to try a very different approach? Two levels The reason this approach might not be working can be due to what is going on for them at a deeper level. What this illustrates is that they don’t begin and end with their conscious mind; they also have an unconscious mind. This other part of them, even though it is hidden has a big impact on what takes place in their conscious mind and what their reality is like. So, as they live in a reality where there is not enough money, opportunities, attention, love, and support, for instance, it is likely to show that this other, bigger part of them feels comfortable with this. Confusion At this point, they could wonder why part of them would feel comfortable with living a life that is full of struggle and strain and deprivation. As strange as this may seem, what they will need to keep in mind is that this part of them is partly trying to receive what they missed out on during their formative years. This part of them has no sense of time and is blind, which is why it can’t see that this stage of their life is over and that other people are not their parents. Thanks to this, it will project how things were onto the present and struggle to meet the developmental needs that were not met. Two Parts Assuming, then, that this was a stage of their life when they were deeply deprived, this is why they will unconsciously create a life where there is not enough. By re-creating a life that is very similar to how things were, this part of them will believe that it will finally receive what it missed out on all those years ago. But, as a depriving reality has been created, not to mention that it is too late to meet these unmet developmental needs, the same outcome will be experienced. Like then, this will cause them to feel frustrated, helpless and hopeless. Back In Time During their formative years, their mother and perhaps their father might have been emotionally unavailable and out of reach. This would have caused them to be greatly deprived and deeply wounded. To handle what was going on, their brain would have repressed the pain they were in and a number of their developmental needs. Another part of how they handled what was going on would have been for them to live in the hope that if they struggled, their needs would be met. A Natural Outcome The trouble was that as their mother and perhaps their father were unable to love them, it wouldn’t have mattered what they did. Yet, if they had faced reality, it would have been too much for them to handle. The years would then have passed since that stage of their life and their conscious mind would have forgotten all about what took place but, at a deeper level, they will still be trying to meet their unmet developmental needs, and re-creating their depriving past will be a way for them to do this. Without this understanding, it is to be expected that they would have believed that there is simply not enough for them. Drawing the Line For them to create a reality where there is enough for them and they are no longer deprived, they are likely to have pain to face and work through and unmet developmental needs to experience. This will take courage, patience and persistence. Awareness If someone can relate to this and they are ready to change their life, they may need to reach out for external support. This is something that can be provided with the assistance of a therapist or healer.
