If someone lives in the western world, or in a country that has been heavily influenced by it, they will probably see themselves as just an observer of their reality. So, in the same way that they will just view what is on a screen, they will also just view what is taking place around them.
They may, or may not, accept that there are certain things that they can control in their life but everything else will be outside of their control. If they do, they could even believe that most of their power lies in how they respond to what happens to them.
On the other hand, if someone believes that they don’t have control over anything, they might not even be aware of the fact that they have control over how they respond. This person could have a ‘victim mentality’, which means that they will believe that the world, and everyone in it, is out to get them.
Therefore, not only will they be an observer of what is going around them, but they will also be a target. The only way that their life will change, then, is if something changes ‘out there’; there will be no other way.
If someone can accept that they do play a part in their life, even if it is just a small part, it could mean that they believe that they have control when it comes to their career, relationships and health.
Or, they might only accept that they have control over their career, but that their relationships and health are largely out of their control. ‘Luck’ could be seen as playing a large role in what their relationships are like and their genes could be seen as defining their health.
The Wider World
As for what is taking place in their country and the world as a whole, this likely to be seen as something that is out of their control. When it comes to what does or doesn’t take place, this could be seen as something that is primarily in the hands of the government and even ‘elites’.
They themselves, along with most of their fellow human beings, are not going to have much of a say. For the world to change, it will be down to these people to make the necessary changes or perhaps for these people to be dealt with in some way.
Now, when a country is chiefly made up of those who believe that they have some control and those who see themselves as having no control whatsoever, it will mean that the those at the top, so to speak, will have a lot of power. There will be a lot of people who don’t have much power and very few people who do.
It could be said that this is the case in most, if not all, countries around the world. As a result of this, it doesn’t matter that there are more people who are ‘enslaved’ than there are in power, as they won’t be able to do much about it.
However, what if someone is not merely an ‘observer’ of their reality and is actually co-creating what appears to be ‘out there’? This means that they themselves, along with their fellow human beings, have control over their life and what takes place on the planet as a whole.
But, as they have been caught up in the belief that they are passively observing reality, it has caused them, and some their fellow human beings, to give their power away. Moreover, another outcome of this is that people, situations and circumstances have appeared externally that are in alignment with the view that they have very little, or no, control.
On one side, the society that they live in is likely to be built on the view that they are just observers and it will continually enforce this view. On the other, they will have an ego-mind that has the same view.
The society that they live in will be an expression of ego-consciousness, which means that it will be a society that is based on duality. For someone to see through the illusion that their ego-mind creates – the part of them that allows them to have their own experience and is there to keep them alive – they will need to develop the ability detach from this part of them and to observe its ways of functioning.
The Next Part
If someone, along with their fellow human beings, is not merely an observer of their reality, how are they are co-creating what is taking place ‘out there’? Their conscious mind plays a part but most of what shows up externally is likely to be a reflection of what is taking place in their unconscious mind.
This is the part of them that will hold the parts of themselves that are too painful for them to acknowledge. This ‘material’ will relate to what they have disconnected from throughout their adult life, childhood years and what has been passed down from their ancestors.
The trouble is that once something has been pushed out of their conscious awareness, their conscious mind will have forgotten all about it. Therefore, when something happens ‘out there’ that mirrors back a part of themselves that they have lost touch with, they won’t be able to see the connection.
Without this understanding, it will be perfectly normal for them to feel victimised by someone or something else. And, when a large part of the population is in this position, it will also be normal for them to come to believe that something or someone ‘out there’ is victimising them.
In order for someone to change their own life and the planet as a whole, it will be essential for them to deal with the material and inner wounds that are held deep in their being. This won’t be easy but if they truly want to change their life and the planet, they will be willing to go down this path.
Focusing on and trying to change what is going on externally is appealing but, if what is going on ‘out there’ is nothing more than an effect, it won’t solve anything. One will simply be trapped in an illusion that their ego-mind has created and they will be wasting their precious time and energy; time and energy that could be used far more effectively.
