Critical Thinking: Do Some Peoples Childhoods Set Them Up To Believe That The World Is Going To End?
Unless someone lives in a cave and has very little connection with the outside world, there is a strong chance that they will have heard a lot of people talk about the environment recently. In addition to this, they may have also heard about what needs to happen in order for the planet to be saved.
If they live or work in London, they may have even found it hard to get to work on time or just found it hard to carry on with their usual plans. The reason for this is that a number of activists held up traffic, glued their hands to things and laid on shop floors.
When it came to the people who were just trying to go about their life, some of these activists caused them all kinds of problems. Not only were these people affected, London businesses were also said to have lost tens of millions of pounds.
Therefore, while these activists were focused on an important issue, it could be said that some of them had the wrong approach. In a lot of cases, their behaviour would have had the opposite effect of what was intended.
A Lack of Thought
It is almost as if many of them only thought about how they could get people’s attention, spending very little time thinking about anything else. Clearly, they got people’s attention but a bad taste was left in a lot of people mouths.
As a result of this, a lot of people haven’t been thinking about what they were trying to create awareness around – the environment; they have been thinking about how disruptive some these activists were. Their short-sightedness has undoubtedly had a destructive effect.
Maybe, the reason why some of these people didn’t think about the negative impact that their behaviour would have and how it would push a lot of people away from their cause, is because their behaviour was being influenced by elements that were outside of their conscious awareness. In other words, their desire to help the planet might not have been the only thing that supplied them with motivation.
Perhaps some these people feel worthless at a deeper level, finding it hard to feel good about themselves, and trying to save the planet allows them feel as though they are superior to others, thereby allowing them to avoid how they feel. Furthermore, their life may have lacked meaning before they went down this path.
A Different View
However, even if someone did play a part in the disruptions that were caused and is aware of the negative effect that their behaviour had on so many people, it doesn’t mean that this will bother them. As far as they are concerned, this could be seen as something that needed to happen to wake people up.
What these people went through is then not going to matter, especially as the planet is not in a good way. Thus, even if they do have the ability to empathise with others, this part of them won’t be online when it comes to what these people went through.
The Main Point
In addition to saying that the planet is not in a good way, someone like this could also say that the world will end if something isn’t done very soon. Their inner world could match up with what they say too, with them being in a bad way emotionally.
If this is the case, this could be seen as a natural reaction to what is taking place around them. What is taking place for them at an emotional level is then going to be seen as a reflection of how bad things are.
Living on Edge
When they think about the planet and what is going on, they could experience a fair amount of fear and anxiety and there could be moments when they experience anger and aggression. It could seem as though it is only a matter of time before their life will come to an end.
There could even be moments when they are overwhelmed with sadness, which could cause them to spend a lot of time crying. One way to describe them would be to say that they have a very strong connection with the planet.
A Deeper Look
This could be all there is to it or there could be another reason why they believe that the world is going to end soon and are not in a good way emotionally. Without realising it, they may be re-experiencing all of the feelings that they felt during their early years.
At this stage of their life, they may have felt as though their life was going to end on a regular basis. Throughout this time, they may have been abused and/or neglected, which would have completely overwhelmed their being.
Their conscious mind can then believe that what is taking place within them is simply a consequence of what is going on out there, but what they believe is going on out there will be a projection of what is taking place within them at a deeper level. What they went through as a child will have been traumatic, yet what they experienced will have ended up being associated as what is familiar and therefore what feels safe to their unconscious mind.
Another way of looking at this would be to say that the reason they are replaying what took place as a child is so that they can resolve what took place. Their unconscious mind wants them to resolve their inner wounds and to become an integrated human being.
The only way this will take place is if they become aware of what is taking place and work through their inner wounds. The trouble is that unless they are able to take a step back and to see the connection, this is unlikely happen.
They will need to disengage from the drama that is out there and to redirect their attention to what is taking place deep with their own being. If they don’t, they will continue to be caught up in what their mind is projecting externally.
When it comes to healing inner wounds, external support may be needed. This is something that can be provided by the assistance of a therapist or a healer.
