Migrant Crisis: Is It Easier For Celebrities To Show Compassion To The Migrants?

If one pays attention to the mainstream media and/or uses social media, they may have heard about a number of celebrities who have shared their views on the migrant crisis. In fact, they may have heard a number of them talk about this on more than one occasion.

What this shows is how easy it is for one to stay up to date with what these kinds of people have to say. One can, of course, rely on the midstream media to tell them, but this is no longer necessary.

The only thing they need to do is to ‘follow’ a celebrity on social media; they won’t miss out on anything then. Nevertheless, one might not feel the need to go this far, and they might just prefer to check out their page from time to time.

A Common Angle

When it comes to what these so-called celebrities have to say about this topic, one is likely to find that most of them have the same outlook. In general, they will talk about how bad it is and that more should be done to help these people.

And as they have their own social media account/s, they will be able to share their thoughts on a regular basis. Essentially, a celebrity is going to have a platform where they can speak directly to others.

The Other Side

Along with what they have to say about the migrants themselves, there will be what they have to say about the people who have a different outlook. This can relate to the people who are not too happy about the effect these emigrants are having on their life.

There will be other celebrities who criticise their own country for not doing enough for these people. But regardless of what they say, there are going to be plenty of people who will agree with what comes out of their mouth.

The Reason

One way of looking at this would be to say that the reason these celebrities say these kinds of things is because they are evolved human beings. Not only are they talented, they also have an open heart.

Through being this way, they are able to put their needs to one side and to think about the needs of others. Based on this, it could be said that it is a good thing that they have the ability to share their views with so many people.

Enlightened

And as they are so wise and knowledgeable, it would be a good idea for other people to listen to what they have to say. To overlook what they have to say would be a big mistake; a mistake that would lead to even more problems.

Through being so evolved, they are able to put themselves in the shoes of the people who are going through such a challenging time and to show concern. So, if there is a problem in the world, these are the kinds of people who should be consulted.

Black and White

As these celebrities are so enlightened, there is only going to be one way to describe the people who don’t agree with what they say. These people are closed hearted and they are not going to be very bright either.

It is then going to be a good idea for them to open their heart and to see the bigger picture. What this will do is enable them to empathise with these people and to show them compassion.

Another Angle

However, while it can seem as though it is this black and white, there is a lot more to it. What needs to be taken into account is that it is a lot easier for one to show compassion towards someone or something that doesn’t directly affect them.

For example, one can readily show concern for someone who has some kind of addiction if they only see them a few times a month. But if they were to live with that person, their whole demeanour is likely to change.

Two Parts

What this comes down to is that in order for one to have an open heart, they will need to feel safe. So, if one feels threatened in any way or as though their very survival is at threat, this part of them can end up being out of action.

With this is mind, it is easy to see why certain celebrities are able to display empathy and compassion with it comes down to the migrant crisis. When it comes to how these people experience life, it will be as if they live on another planet.

A Different Reality

The kind of concerns that these people have are likely to be radically different to the kind of concerns that the average person has. For one thing, it is highly unlikely that they will worry about money.

They won’t need to wait to get an appointment to see their doctor either, and if they life in an area that is no longer safe, they can just move somewhere else. Ultimately, these celebrities are completely out of touch with the real world.

Conclusion

And the fact that they are only too happy to criticise the people who have a different outlook proves this. Perhaps the main reason why they show empathy and compassion is due to the fact that they want to look good.

Showing how virtuous they are only not only has a positive effect on their image, it also has a positive effect on their wellbeing. If these celebrities were to live a week in the life of someone who has an issue with what is taking place, they might soon change their outlook.

It might then occur to them that they are not as evolved as they thought they were. This is then similar to how easy it is for someone who lives on a mountain or on the edge of society to come across as ‘enlightened’; they are away from it all.
