Recently, there have been a number of terrorist attacks in England and, naturally, this has had a big effect on the country. However, this is not the only country in Europe that has been affected in his way.
These kinds of attacks are becoming a regular occurrence in the western world, at least in some countries. As result of this, it is not going to be long until some people come to accept what is taking place.
Having said that, there is the chance that there are already a number of people who have already arrived at this point. And along with what has been taking place in Europe, there is also what has taken place in America and the Middle East.
When something happens in Europe or America, it is not going to be long until the mainstream media focus on it. On the other hand, if something like this happens in the Middle East, it can end up being overlooked.
It can then seem as though some people’s lives are more important than others, and this is something that angers a lot of people. Fortunately, if someone does want to keep up to date with what is taking place around them, they can go online and do their own research.
A Number of Experiences
After an attack has taken place, there will be the effect it has on the friends and family of the people who are murdered, and if there are any survivors, there will be what they have gone through and what they will go through now that it is over.
So when it comes to the former, the people they are close to are going to suffer even though they were not with them when it happened. Yet, if they did have friends and/or family with them when it happened, it can be even harder for these people to come to terms with what has take place.
No Longer the Same
But regardless of whether someone was with them when it happened or miles away, it doesn’t mean that it will be any different in the long run. Ultimately, they will have lost someone who they were close to, and this will be enough to cause them to experience a lot of pain.
These people’s lives won’t be the same again, and they might need a lot of support just to get by each day. When it comes to the people who have survived, their bodies might no longer be the same and/or they could be in a bad way.
A Number of Consequences
Due to what they have been through, they might end up with post traumatic stress, and it is then not going to be possible for them to just carry on with their life. They might find that they are unable to function at work, or they might not even feel safe enough to leave their house, amongst other things.
It doesn’t stop there though, as there will be the effect this will have on people in general. The majority of these people won’t have been anywhere near what took place, but that doesn’t mean that they will be able to carry on as normal.
Nevertheless, even if someone can’t just carry on with their life, they could come to believe that this is the best thing for them to do. The reason for this is that the mainstream media, as well as other sources, will tell them that this is what they need to do.
This is not to say that this is something that will always happen directly, as it might not be this black and white. But no matter what they are told, it could be said that the main priority will be to make sure that they disconnect from their true feelings.
Business as Usual
One way of looking at this would be to say that the best thing will be for people to carry on as normal. Through taking this approach, it will allow them to live their life as opposed to giving even more power to the people who want to kill them.
If someone ended up being communed with fear and anxiety, this wouldn’t take place. The same could be said if one become overwhelmed with anger; this would also stop them from being able to function, and they might even end up harming innocent people.
Along with the mainstream media telling people to carry on as normal and to stand together, there is also likely to be a focus on how well the emergency services did. And, based on how these people responded, this can cause them feel as though they are in safe hands.
Another way of looking at this would be to say that people are being encouraged to disconnect from the part of them that wants to keep them alive. Through being out of touch with the information that is within then, it is highly unlikely that anything will change; in fact, it is likely to get a whole lot worse.
Although there are certain emotions that are seen as good and some that are seen as bad, it doesn’t mean that this has any basis in reality. Each emotion that one has is there for a reason.
When one’s life is under threat and they feel as though they can’t do anything about it, they will experience fear and anxiety. But when it is under threat and they don’t feel powerless, they will experience anger.
Now, this doesn’t mean that one has to lose control when they experience anger; what it means is that they will pay attention to the information that is within them and look into what they can do. This is going to be far better than if they were to stick their head in the sand and to act as though everything is fine, or to be overwhelmed with fear and anxiety.
For example, when one disconnects from their anger, it will be a lot easier for people to walk over them. The part of them that is there to tell them that something isn’t right is going to be out of action.
By telling people to carry on as normal and not to take a step back and ask why these terrorist attacks are taking place, it creates the impression that there is nothing that can be done to stop them. Someone can then disconnect from their anger and it can cause them to feel completely powerless.
Through being in this state, it is going to be a lot easier to control them, and this will appeal not only to the terrorists, it will also appeal to the people behind the scenes, so to peak. What is clear is that the right questions need to be asked and the right steps need to be taken.
