The American presidential election has now come to an end, and this has given people plenty to talk about. For some people, the result will be the best thing that could have happened, and for others, it will be the worst possible outcome.
It is then not going to matter if these people live in the same country, as their experiences are going to be radically different. Even so, this is not to say that these are the only two experiences that people are having. On The Sidelines There are going to be plenty of people who couldn’t care less about what has taken place, and this is could come down to the fact that they didn’t vote. The whole thing could have been seen as waste of time. When someone has this outlook, they could say that while the faces may change, the consequences are always the same. It is then better for them to carry on as normal and not to get distracted by it all. It’s everywhere One way for them to get away from it all would be to move to the middle of nowhere and to leave their technology behind. Through doing this, it might allow them to finally get some peace and quiet. What this shows is that being around others is not the only way to hear about what other people think; this can take place through having some kind of device. If they were to go onto social media, for instance, there is a strong chance that their News Feed would be full of comments about the election. Effortless However, if someone is interested in what has taken place, it could be said that social media will be the perfect place for them to share their views. This can be done through writing something, or they can share a video or an article. It is going to take less effort for them to share another person’s work, and they might have the ability to say exactly what they are thinking. And once they have said something, it could only be a matter of seconds before their ‘friends’ start to respond. Hesitant At the same time, it could be said that this will only be a good place for them to share their views if they wanted Hillary to win. The reason for this is that their News feed is likely to be full of comments that talk about how bad Trump is. Therefore, if they were to talk about how pleased they are with the result, they could soon end up being put down or labelled in some way. A number of their ‘friends’ could start to see them differently, and they might even ‘unfriend’ them. Holding Back It might then be in their best interest to keep their views to themselves, but this could depend on a number of different factors. If they are self-employed, for example, they might believe that speaking their truth is less likely to have a negative effect on their livelihood. On the other hand, if they worked for someone else this could cause them to experience tension at work, and they may even lose their job. Yet, if one supported Hillary, there will be no reason for them to bite their tongue, so to speak. Support It is not even going to be necessary for someone to talk about how Hillary would be better, in order to be approved of by others; they can simply focus on how bad Trump is. This approach alone is likely to have a positive effect on how people perceive them. That won’t be as far as it goes though, as they can also end up being seen as a good person. It is then going to be similar to what would happen if they were to help a homeless person and then to talk about what happened online. In Shock As far as these people are concerned, trump could be seen as a deplorable human being, and so the people who voted for him must have something wrong with them. His supporters are then going to be put in one box, and it won’t matter why they supported Trump. This would be the same as saying that every sports fan is a troublemaker because a few fans cause trouble. If they took their time to find out why someone supported trump, it might allow them to expand their mind. The Reason When someone believes that Hillary is good and trump is bad, it can be a sign that they have been indoctrinated by the mainstream media. This source of information had no interest in giving people the facts about each candidate. But then if the people who were funding Hillary’s campaign are also behind the mainstream media, this is not much of a surprise. Expecting to be informed by this source, would be the same as expecting to buy a BMW at a Mercedes garage; it is simply not going to happen. Two Objectives The mainstream media did everything they could to try to convince people that Hillary was better than trump, and it could be said that they did a great job. Through doing this, they hoped that it would pave the way for her to become the next president. This part of their plan didn’t go too well, and this has lead to number of people to say that the mainstream media is starting to lose its power. Even so, it’s not as if they are dead in the water. Conclusion What is can show is that more and more people are beginning to look towards other sources of information, namely the alternative media. This doesn’t mean that everyone who voted for Trump followed this source though, as there are going to be people who simply turned away from the mainstream media and listened to what he had to say. Even so, it is clear that the mainstream media has their own agenda, and this is something that can’t be overlooked. When someone realises this, it will give them the chance to take a step back and to take control of what they allow into their mind.
